This blog was created for posting my pictures. I'm planning on taking at least one picture each day. This will motivate me to use my camera every day. I have a new daughter, who will make great material for this, but my pictures will include other subjects as well. I work in Tulsa, which has lots of interesting sites and is located on historic route 66. All of my pictures are links and you can click on them to see the larger version.

Day 239

Today, we went to the San Diego Zoo. This is one of the pictures I snapped of the panda bears.

Day 238

Today, we drove to L.A. to see Chinatown. We had Chinese food for lunch, and did lots of shopping. Then we decided to go to Hollywood to see the walk of fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater, etc. We had dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen, right next to the Kodak Theater. There was a good view of the Hollywood sign there and Erica and Alyssa posed for this picture.

Day 237

Today, we went to visit Dan, Shannon, & Landree. We had a great time catching up and Landree and Alyssa had lots of fun playing and entertaining all of us. Here's a picture of Alyssa pushing Landree on her 4-wheeler. I'm going to try to post some of our other vacation photos, when I have time, on my other blog.

Day 236

Today, we made it to San Diego. Our luggage took a later flight and hopefully it will be here very soon. We didn't have any clothes to change into, but we went down to the ocean and played for a bit. Alyssa loved it and we thought we might not get her out of it.

Day 234

This is our new red suitcase that we bought for our trip to San Diego. We needed a new one because our last one was destroyed on our way back from China. We paid extra for that bag, since it was a bit overweight, so we tell everyone that we paid extra money to have it destroyed. Thanks, Southwest Airlines! We got this bright red bag partly, because it should be easy to spot in the baggage claim area. Now, I have photographic proof of what it looked like, in case something happens to it.

Day 230

Today, we took Alyssa to the Tulsa Zoo to see Feather Fest. We knew this would probably be our last chance to see this. Being zoo members, our only cost was $2 for me and Shawn to get into Feather Fest and we each got a stick with bird food on it. Here's a picture of Shawn and Alyssa. Shawn has a bird perched on her food stick.

Day 229

Today, we all went to Black Buggy Day in Chouteau, OK. This is an Amish celebration. There is a very large community of Amish people in this area. There was a rodeo, lots of homemade food, and rides. My picture for today is of a buggy being pulled by two horses. Alyssa is standing in the middle row next to Shawn.

Day 228

Today, I snapped a picture while I was geocaching near the power plant for Public Service Company of Oklahoma. They go by PSO for short. I can't figure out why important words like "company" and "Oklahoma" aren't included in their acronym.

Day 226

One year ago today, Alyssa was placed in our arms by officials with the Chongqing Marriage and Adoption office. Today, I've snapped a picture of her wearing the same outfit she had on that day. She's really changed a lot in one year. To see her picture from one year ago, click here. To see all our pictures and what we wrote about that day, including a link to a video, click here.

Day 220

Today, we went to a special member's night at the zoo. These are always cool because you get a behind the scenes look at what's happening at the zoo. In this picture you can see Alyssa and Shawn in the bear exhibit at the zoo. Everyone was allowed to enter the bear exhibit through the back door, passing just a few feet away from the bears who were in cages, just behind the exhibit.

Day 218

Today, Shawn suggested that I snap a picture of the blue night stand that she stained and finished for Greg's room. We bought this as a kit, that you assemble and finish yourself. I put it together and Shawn finished it with blue stain and several coats of clear finish. We bought custom drawer pulls to match other items Greg picked out for the room.

Day 217

Today's picture is of the Admiral Twin drive-in. This drive-in theater is still in operation. There is another screen on the opposite side. You can see that all the speaker stands no longer have speakers on them. They broadcast the audio on two different FM frequencies now.
