This blog was created for posting my pictures. I'm planning on taking at least one picture each day. This will motivate me to use my camera every day. I have a new daughter, who will make great material for this, but my pictures will include other subjects as well. I work in Tulsa, which has lots of interesting sites and is located on historic route 66. All of my pictures are links and you can click on them to see the larger version.

Day 178

Today I've snapped a picture of Alyssa getting comfortable in her chair. She has her legs thrown over the side and the orange on her face is from some Cheetos.

Day 177

This is a new toy I bought for myself this evening. I have other MP3 players, but this one has 2 GB of space and was only $29 at Big Lots. It was super easy to setup and start using too. (unlike all the iPods)

Day 174

On our way home from Edmond, we drove through Bristow, OK and found this old train depot. It appears that this building has been restored and from looking through the windows, it has some sort of gift shop inside and looks to be where their chamber of commerce meets.

Day 170

My picture for today was taken at the Richard L Jones Riverside Airport. I took pictures of a number of airplanes here, and used a photography technique known as panning. Panning takes quite a bit of practice, but I think this shot came out pretty good.

Day 169

This is a naked lady that just bloomed in our front flower bed. This plant grows a number of leaves for a few weeks early in the spring, which die and eventually disappear. Then, later in the summer, a single stalk appears with pink flowers that emerge from the top.

Day 168

This is a toy violin keychain that was given to Alyssa by a lady who works at my office. It plays a number of different tunes when you touch the bow to the strings. Alyssa was playing with this tonight, and I decided to use it for my picture today.

Day 167

Today we got out Alyssa's pool in the backyard. This is Alyssa playing in it. Shawn didn't want to be seen in her little pool, so I had to crop her out of it.

Today we went to a birthday party for our niece, Lilly. This picture was snapped just before the cake was cut. Lilly is the girl in the brown top with the big smile.

This is the newly completed skywalk at the Cyrus Avery Plaza, which marks the bridge where Route 66 crosses the Arkansas River. This was a project of Tulsa's Vision 2025 project.

Day 163

This is a new bridge that was recently completed along a walking/biking trail that I use sometimes when I'm riding my bike. Before it was completed, you had to either walk your bike across the creek, or turn around and go back. Now you can take the trail all the way from the NSU Broken Arrow campus to the other side of the Arkansas River in Jenks, OK.

After dinner tonight, we went to the store to get a few things and there was a small car show going on in the back of the parking lot. This is a Camaro SS, that was part of the car show.

Day 161

This is the Richard Lloyd Jones home, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and named Westhope. This home was built in 1929 for Frank Lloyd Wright's cousin. I learned of this house due to one of my hobbies, terracaching.

Day 158

Today's picture was taken at the pool at our hotel. Alyssa loves the pool and is pretty much fearless. Here's a picture of her jumping into the pool, where Shawn is there to catch her. Also, today is Shawn's birthday. Happy Birthday, Shawn. I love you!!!

Day 157

On our way to Dallas, we drove through McAlester so we could eat dinner at Pete's Place. When we spotted this billboard, that's been defaced, I immediately wanted to use it for my photo of the day. Gene Stipe is the most corrupt politician I know from around here. I really liked the modification someone made to this billboard. For more info about Gene Stipe, try this link.

Today, I spotted this car with an unusual paintjob. I found this at one of the buildings on the campus where I work. The design was continued onto window screens as well.

Day 154

Today I snapped a picture of some graffiti on the back door of a business here in Tulsa. I thought this looked a lot like Chuck E. Cheese. (having "Chuck" written next to it might have been a big clue here)

Today, I'm posting a picture of a bloom from one of our blackberry lily plants. These plants bloom for several weeks during the summer and look great. We love them, especially since we learned they are originally from China.

Day 149

Today, I gave our dog, Samson, a bath. Samson is a little furrball and is made up of more hair than dog. We tell everyone that he looks like a drowned rat when we give him a bath and you can see how small his body is. So, here is a picture of Samson, after getting his bath.

Day 148

Today, Shawn bought some corn on the cob from a farmer at a roadside stand. Alyssa just loves corn on the cob. Here's a picture of her enjoying it.
