Day 56

Today's picture is of a redbud tree. The Eastern Redbud is the state tree of Oklahoma. They're easiest to identify this time of year, when the red buds are showing, and before the leaves have emerged.

Today's picture was taken right after I gave Alyssa her bath and just before getting dressed for bed and having her bottle. She was sitting in my chair and giving her Easter bunny a big hug.

I found this old house on some land, where they are about to build a new hospital, here in Broken Arrow. I'm sure it won't be here much longer, since they held the ground breaking ceremony for the hospital just the other day.

Today's picture is of some spirea bushes that we found growing along a fenceline in the Tulsa area.

Today, I happened to catch a rainbow. It was off to the East of us and we found a barn to include with it. With a little Photoshop magic, I removed some powerlines to enhance it.

Today we went to Edmond to visit my family. This picture is of Alyssa playing with her cousin, who's blowing bubbles for her.

Today was our Easter egg hunt with the local FCC group. Afterwards we went to the zoo, where I snapped this picture of a Zebra.

Today I was lucky enough to get close to a Mourning Dove and get a picture. This is the species that is most prevalent in Oklahoma and very sought after by hunters from September 1st throught September 30.

Today I noticed that all of the Bradford Pear Trees were in bloom. I tried to find one to photograph that hadn't been disfigured by the ice storm in Dec.

Today it has rained all day long and has been a pretty gloomy day. All the rain has caused a number of the creeks in the area to flood. This is a picture of Haikey Creek, just North of 121st Street.

Today, I was at LaFortune Park when this squirrel stopped and posed for me.

This is the dam for Lake Keystone. Today, all of the flood gates were open. They had been closed for quite some time before this to allow some projects, downstream along the Arkansas River, to be completed. This also allowed me to complete a Terracache that I've been wanting to do for quite some time.

We took this picture at Mohawk Park. Alyssa played on the jungle gym here for quite a while and was really proud of herself going through the tube by herself.

This picture was taken at home, just goofing around. Alyssa is hanging upside-down off of mommy in this shot.

I snapped this picture just up the road from our house. Shawn calls these jonquils. I've always called them daffodils. I had to do some research to see who was right. I found that in addition to being called daffodils and jonquils, they're also called buttercups.

Today's photo is the Blue Dome, located in Downtown Tulsa. It was a landmark of historic route 66 and now is at the heart of several bars that play a large part of Tulsa's nightlife. The tower you can see in the back ground is the BOK Tower, which is the tallest building in Oklahoma.

This is a bad hard drive that my wife brought home from work, so I could remove the powerful magnets from inside.

Today has been a long day and when it got late and I still hadn't taken my picture for today, I decided I'd have a little wine.

Today we stayed home all day. Alyssa loves to sit in my recliner and have us rock it, with her in it. Tonight the static electricity had her hair standing on end.

This was a giant sand sculpture being created at the Tulsa Home and Garden Show. There was a person there, still working on it. Today's image is a bit smaller than my other pictures, since it was snapped with my phone.

This is an old railroad cart that I found in front of a storage building next to the railroad tracks. It looks like it hasn't been used for a long time because of all the rust on the wheels.

Here's a picture of Alyssa, asleep in her bed. Amazingly, she slept right through the flash.

Today I was just playing around with my macro lens.

We just happened to drive by this tonight. This was a pickup truck that was on it's side at the intersection of County Line Rd. (193rd) and Houston (81st) in Broken Arrow. The gas tank must have ruptured because the fire department was there and they sprayed it with foam.

Day 28

Tonight I took a picture of Alyssa standing on a heart-shaped tin that once held Valentine's Day candy. She's learning to use all sorts of objects to climb on things. We're going to have our hands full with her.

Day 27

Today we took Alyssa to feed the ducks. She didn't quite catch on to throwing the bread to them, but she had a good time being so close to them and even chased them once. Unfortunately, I missed the shot of her running and the ducks flying away.

Day 26

This is a picture of Alyssa that we took during an airport party today. She was running everywhere, especially away from us. It was a little hard to see the new baby and visit while trying to keep up with Alyssa.
